MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. Businessmen and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have a growing demand for using the mechanisms provided by the full-fledged agreement on free trade with Iran, which takes effect on May 15, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Andrey Slepnev said at a meeting with CEO of Mir Business Bank JSC Mohammad Esmaeil Hazzar and representatives of the Russian-Iranian Business Council.
"EAEU member states and our entrepreneurs have a strong demand for using the tools of the full-fledged agreement on free trade with Iran that is set to come into force on May 15, for expanding their activities on the Iranian market," Slepnev was quoted as saying in a statement released by the EEC.
That said, there are many specific initiatives on enhancing trade announced by business, including those concerning the removal of certain barriers in Iran, such as restrictions at checkpoints and in infrastructure, he said. Moreover, the issue of mutual payments is one of those raised by almost all companies in the EAEU.
