Rosatom, IAEA chiefs talk rotation of agency's experts at ZNPP

According to Rosatom, the parties held an honest and open dialogue concerning the safety of the Zaporozhye NPP and other Russian nuclear plants

MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. Rosatom head Alexey Likhachev and International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi discussed regular rotations of IAEA experts at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP) during talks in Moscow, Rosatom reported on its Telegram channel.

"Rafael Grossi, in turn, described how the IAEA secretariat approaches the organization of work at the Zaporozhye NPP and spoke about his recent trip to Ukraine. The parties also discussed the regular rotations of IAEA experts at the ZNPP," the statement reads.

Meanwhile, Likhachev emphasized the importance of joint work with the agency.

"The parties held an honest and open dialogue. It concerned the safety of the Zaporozhye NPP and other Russian nuclear plants. Alexey Likhachev gave clear and principled assessments of the current situation. He highlighted the efforts made by Russia to ensure the safe operation of the Zaporozhye NPP and to improve the lives of people in its satellite city, Energodar, amid constant Ukrainian attacks. He emphasized the importance of joint work with the IAEA, including at the plant site," the statement says.

The parties confirmed their intention to continue regular contacts.
