MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. In their phone call yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, discussed the wise words of US General Douglas MacArthur, who once warned about the dangers of renewed militarism, Kremlin Aide Yury Ushakov told reporters.
"The two leaders also discussed US [Douglas] MacArthur, and highlighted the foresight of his warnings that aggressive militarism may revive," Ushakov said.
General of the Army Douglas MacArthur headed the US Army’s Far East command during WWII before he commanded the Southwest Pacific Theater. In 1945, MacArthur signed the Japanese surrender agreement.
