Space national project approved overall at strategic session in Russian government

The document includes two groundbreaking technological projects: ‘Space Atom’ and ‘Space Science’

MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. The updated national project devoted to space has been approved at the strategic session headed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Bakanov said.

"It is very important that the strategic session and head of the government supported the national project, which we can now submit for the Presidential Council on strategic development and national projects," he said in a video posted on the government’s Telegram channel.

Such projects as ‘Space Science’ and ‘Space Atom’, which is devoted to the use of nuclear technologies in space, have been included in the national project, according to a statement citing Bakanov released by the cabinet.

"The document includes two groundbreaking technological projects: ‘Space Atom’ devoted to application of domestic nuclear technologies in space <…>, and ‘Space Science’," the statement reads.
