KALININGRAD, June 6. /TASS/. Getting the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) back up and running can only happen if there are no more military threats such as direct attacks or sabotage, Russia's Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation CEO Alexey Likhachev said.
"[About] our plans to restore the [Zaporozhye] NPP to working order: we have already informed you that Rosenergoatom, a subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation, has prepared a comprehensive, multi-level plan for the gradual restart of the nuclear power plant. The plan is currently awaiting approval by the Russian government and Russia's Ministry of Energy in cooperation with the grid operator," Likhachev told reporters following negotiations between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Rosatom in Kaliningrad.
"This plan can only be carried out if military threats are eliminated: both direct attacks and any sabotage aimed at disrupting the stable operation of the nuclear power plant," Likhachev stressed.
