MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The Moscow Exchange Index with an additional code (IMOEX2) responded with a slight increase in the evening trading session to US President Donald Trump's statements about his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As of 08:31 p.m. Moscow time, IMOEX2 grew by 1.27%, to 2,876.42 points. By 08:48 p.m. Moscow time, IMOEX2 amounted to 2,882.47 points (+1.48%), and then slowed down and was at 2,874.06 points (+1.19%), according to trading data as of 09:00 p.m. Moscow time.

According to the Russian President, Trump noted in a telephone conversation that Russia, for its part, is in favor of a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. Russia is ready to work with Ukraine on a memorandum on a future peace treaty, which, among other things, may include issues of a ceasefire and principles for resolving the conflict. In turn, Trump said that Russia and Ukraine will begin negotiations on a ceasefire and ending the conflict in the very near future. According to Yury Ushakov, the presidential aide for international affairs, the telephone conversation between the leaders of Russia and the United States lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes.
